The "Myrten" pattern, by Sven Fristedt, was on cotton cretonne fabric in our 1968 catalogue. But STRECKFLY cushion cover and pre-cut fabric in the Nytillverkad collection are in 100% recycled textile.

Part of the Nytillverkad collection where several IKEA classics have been given a new look.

The "Myrten" pattern, created by textile designer Sven Fristedt, had several different colour schemes when it was presented on furniture fabrics and bedspreads in the 1968 IKEA catalogue.

The fabric is woven from 100% recycled textile.

Designer Thoughts

"I felt that patterns were so exciting when I started working with IKEA in 1965. I've been working with leaves all the time, both big and small. It suits me since I don't like working with rulers. On the other hand, I think cutting is very enjoyable since it automatically tends to result in round shapes. Creating is my way of life. To now see my "Myrten" pattern given new life on STRECKFLY cushion cover and pre-cut fabric in the Nytillverkad collection makes me really happy."
