The more-than-laundry room

Fact: Laundry is boring. So we asked our interior designer, Anna, to create a laundry station that was both functional and fun. She chose to recreate a Mediterranean café, but if you’re ready to liven up your laundry area, too, go with whatever theme inspires you!

“Hampers can be bulky and take up a lot of visual space. Pick one that you actually like the look of. Or just hide it behind a textile!”

Get the (new) scoop

As long as you’re ditching the ugly containers, you might as well replace those plastic scoops, too, right?

“Look, detergent boxes aren’t exactly pretty. A few glass containers and some coffee tins can make a world of difference.”

Always consider the lighting.

There are lots of ways to get creative with lighting. Anna used porcelain cups to fit this theme.

Practically speaking

Keep in mind that no matter how much you end up enjoying your new laundry space, at its best it should be just that – a place to take care of the laundry. Leave yourself enough room to sort and fold, and it will all feel seamless.
